DRONARIVM-47: Enrico Coniglio & Matteo Uggeri ‘Open To The Sea’ to be released on July 7th!

“Open To The Sea” is the result of fruitful email conversation between two italian artists Enrico Coniglio and Matteo Uggeri. Sweet and minimal melodies on piano, organ and guitar of Enrico meet the efforts on trumpet and drums by Matteo, whose electronics treatment and delicate beats provide the solid ground to a music that seems a perfect match, unusual and at times brilliant, of the two artists’ sensibility. “Open To The Sea” explores a variety of merging organic sounds where the calm and intimate feel of the album is disrupt by incursions of gentle noises and sometimes curious juxtapositions. The contribution of several guests, including electronics by Giulio Aldinucci, vocals by Comaneci, Lau Nau, Violeta Päivänkakkara and British actor John Guilor, enrich the acoustic palettes of the record. Drops of additional brass by Fabio Ricci (Vonneumann) and Stella Riva (*Satan is my brother*), along with James Plotkin accurate mastering are the final details to the frame of “Open To The Sea”.

Out Now: VVAA “Aqua Matrix” (Dragon’s Eye recordings)

So happy my track Acque Lotiche/Acque Lentiche has been featured on this release, out for Dragon’s Eye recordings, as the result of an artist residency held in Campania, south of Italy, last year.

‘Aqua Matrix’ is an investigation into the aesthetics of water, a research and artistic experiment about one of the most fundamental elements in nature for its acoustic and physical properties. A few short art residencies took place in Irpinia, a unique land of natural heritage that holds one of the most important reservoirs in Italy. Therefore, water as a thread, being Irpinia the power source and starting point of an extraordinary work of hydraulic engineering, the Apulian Aqueduct, the largest one in Europe, brings water from Irpinia to Apulia. Water as medium, physical matter and dynamic sound, magic and arcane element, spiritual entity, primary and essential source, full of symbolic and archetypical aspects.
