Dear all,

I’m pleased to share the release of a new album by UP TO 23 “An Apple a Day You Die Anyway”, out March 27, 2026 on 13/Silentes (SPS26113).

“Music, like love, surprises you, makes your heart race, gives you new eyes with which to look at yourself in the mirror…”
— Gigi Masin

PRESS.

With an exclusive presentation by Gigi Masin, Up to 23 return with their second album, now evolving into a three-member project with the permanent addition of Enrico Coniglio alongside founding members Marco Buffetti and Francesco Fincato.

Drawing inspiration from 1980s sonic aesthetics and echoing the atmospheres of science fiction soundtracks, the album moves between romantic and doom ambient territories, unfolding as a subtle requiem for our planet. Liquid and enveloping textures emerge through processed guitars and synthesizers, intertwining with more restrained electronic structures shaped by sequencers and programmed patterns.

Across the record, dramatic and evocative passages coexist with moments of suspension and introspection, forming a continuous and fluid narrative. Sound layers and harmonic progressions shift organically, tracing a path that remains cohesive while constantly transforming. The result is a work that resonates as both intimate and cinematic — a reflection of the present time, suspended between fragility and resistance.

An Apple a Day You Die Anyway is conceived as a soundtrack for these dark times — an attempt to reintroduce color into the landscape, to continue hoping, to live without merely surviving.

The album is available in two limited vinyl editions (both including download code):
– Black vinyl (limited to 100 copies)
– Rotten Red vinyl (limited to 100 copies)

Liner notes by Giulia Dal Vecchio (Hiseka).

Printemps de l’Orangerie: The Gentle Flow

Part of a traveling exhibition taking place across Europe from February to December 2026, The Gentle Flow traces a cultural journey from the Deux-Sèvres region in France to Venice.

The project is a multidisciplinary dialogue between French painter Alain Churlaud and Venetian composer and sound artist Enrico Coniglio. Combining visual art and ambient sound, the exhibition explores two profoundly different environments: the mountains and the city of Venice.

The exhibition unfolds as a journey that begins in the glaciers of the Alps and gradually descends toward Venice, reaching the city at night. Paintings are displayed on opposing walls, allowing visitors to move between the two landscapes while being guided by a carefully designed sound scenography.

A documentary video installation presents the creative process behind the project, offering visitors further insight into the artistic collaboration and enriching the overall experience.

My track “riflesso di immersione” has been released as part of homework – year 10, taâlem’s end-of-year compilation.

taâlem is a label I’ve been following and appreciating for a long time, so being included in this tenth edition means a lot to me. “riflesso di immersione” is a slow, inward-looking piece, conceived as a deep listening experience rather than something meant to be consumed quickly. Placing it within this context feels natural, as it resonates with the overall aesthetic and spirit of the compilation.

homework – year 10 was released on December 25 and is available on Bandcamp and major streaming platforms.

“Western Simulacrum” by Emanuele Mengotti, audio installation by Enrico Coniglio @ Galleria d’arte Comunale di Faenza, Voltone della Molinella

—

“Western Simulacrum” was born from the need to cross through the mirage — to understand how an image can become flesh, how a dream can turn into destiny.

The exhibition explores the West as a mental construction before being a geographical one.
It begins with an inherited memory: the West imagined by a father who never saw it and recounted it to his son, evolving through Polaroids taken in the most marginal and authentic corners of America by the artist himself. These images enter into dialogue with a selection of original postcards from the last century, featuring handwritten texts whose words feel more timely than ever today. The exhibition weaves together family intimacy, myth-making, national ideology, and what America still dares to dream of itself.

It is not an exhibition about the West, but about the desire for the West — about what remains when the myth falters yet keeps stubbornly beating. Between apparition and disorientation, a wounded symbol reemerges — the trace of a revelation that touches both personal memory and the American present.

PRESS.

Slow-evolving music, nostalgic retro pads, and moody textures transport the listener in a shades of blue landscape of Venice. After many albums released over the last 20 years, Enrico Coniglio is returning to the origins, focusing mainly on loop based improvisations, played live-in-studio with no other instruments but Roland’s guitar-synths and swirly reverbs. “adagissimo venexiano” (where adagissimo in music means a ‘very slow and solemn tempo’) pays personal homage to the “soundscape compositions” of Mr. R. Fripp, from the 1990s.

Up To 23 is an electronic music duo formed by Marco Buffetti and Francesco Fincato.

“Hydor LP” is a sonic journey diving into the ever-changing nature of water. From vast seascapes to the depths of the underwater world, the album aims to capture the power and tranquility of this elemental force, shifting between dark tones, ethereal visions and cinematic moods.

The last two tracks feature a collaboration with Enrico Coniglio, whose guitar parts lay a foundation for fluid and hypnotic soundscapes. Immerse yourself in an enveloping experience, where sound becomes a current and time seems to dissolve.
